Iris Van Herpen Vs United Nude

I've been following Iris's work for a long time now, but lately her pieces have become too much for me. Her use of technology applied to fashion can be very innovative, though I miss the use of the old and classy materials. Like leather!
This collaboration with United Nude is much more like it.

Also, you should take a look to the runway set. Creepy, I know, but extraordinary!

Wow I
Wow II

Vacuum. Models. Plastic Bags.
Words that you'd never guess together.
I supposed the models weren't comfortable, but Iris likes to shock.
How did she manage to do that?

I'm not the only geek

It lightens up my day to know that I'm not the only geek in "my tribe"!
As a Star Wars fan since a very young age, it makes me clap my hands of excitment to see this kind of things on the runway!
Bravo Rodarte!

Chanel Haute Couture SS14 & Sébastien Tellier

How can I put this? Why do I always/still feel surprised by Karl's runway shows?
Speechless runway design, pure white, slim waists, light colours and SNEAKERS. Finally!
This is what happens when you give sneakers to models. They jump up and down as if they just got out of Austria's hills. They trot through the stairs, adding a vibrant and dynamic feeling to the show.
All of this while Monsieur Tellier is playing divine music to my ears.

Looping Catwalk by Gartnerfuglen Architects

With no time to blog, and with a very busy week between hands, I just felt the need to post about the simplicity of things. [And actually making a effort to make life simpler and trying to see things clearer!]
This is just a beautiful wooden catwalk designed by Norwegian studio Gartnerfuglen Architects built with the help of a group of volunteers for the independent fashion show Up [øpp] that promotes young Norwegian fashion designers. [And you know I'm all for the new talents!]
Simple material, simple idea, major creativity.

Oh Simone!

She is the daughter of John Rocha, a fashion designer of Chinese and Portuguese [Macanese] descent who lives in Dublin. [Oh! Maybe she knows some words in Portuguese!]
She completed her BA in Fashion from The National College of Art & Design [NCAD] in Dublin, in 2008, and graduated from her MA at Central Saint Martins [CSM] in 2010.
I came upon her work through the floating perspex brogue that everyone was talking about, and with just a few seasons she has won a place in my heart.

BUREAU BETAK | Christian Dior RTW SS14

All photos from Bureau Betak.

This is just too magnificent for me not to share.
I have no words.
For God's sake, what do I need to do to be a part of this?
Oh! I wish I was there.
